Our Vision |
|
| |
The club is
a federation of community-based recreational soccer programs in
south and west Houston with a single select soccer program,
whose teams and individual players compete consistently at the
regional and national level.
The club is widely acknowledged as providing the highest quality
player development programs, facilities, staff, education,
leadership, and management so that all participants are
encouraged to reach their maximum potential while developing a
passion for the game. |
|
The first part of our
vision describes the concept of community-based recreational soccer
programs. The term "federation" is defined as an "organization
formed by merging several different groups or parties." The Board
envisions that the club will become an organization comprised of
community-based recreational soccer programs throughout our current
geographic area. Maintaining a sense of community within these
recreational soccer programs is important. Youth soccer players
enjoy playing soccer with the kids in their neighborhood and in
their school. Parents enjoy having games and practices at facilities
close to home. The club's role is to offer services to those
community programs that are higher quality or less expensive than
the services they would be able to provide themselves.
The second part of
our vision addresses the Eclipse select soccer program. We recognize
that the select program players have different needs than the
recreational soccer program players. Select players want to play at
a more competitive level and wish to develop their skills so that
they are constantly improving their own abilities on the field, as
an individual and as a team. They demand the best training, the best
facilities, and placement on a team at a select level that matches
their abilities. In order to offer a select team that is appropriate
for any select player, it is important that all select players in
our area be guided into a single select program. Only then will you
have the number of players required to offer select teams at the
Division One, Super 2, and Division 2 levels. The club's Board
believes that raising the competitiveness of our best teams in each
age group furthers the success of the entire program.
The last part of our
Vision describes how we wish to be acknowledged by those in the
soccer community. As the Board contemplated what has made us
successful in the past, the term "quality" came up again and again.
We have perhaps the finest soccer fields in the Houston metro area.
Our staff are second to none, widely known at the state and
increasingly at the regional and national level. We are committed to
improvement in our coaching development, referee development, and
player development tools.
Finally we touch on
our overall objective: We want to provide an environment whereby our
players, parents, referees, and coaches can flourish and develop a
passion for the number one sport in the world.
If our Vision
Statement paints a picture of who we want to become, then our
Mission Statement describes how we plan to develop the club
so that our vision becomes a reality. The Mission Statement defines
a set of values that we deem important to the club’s development:
|
Mission Statement |
|
| |
We strive to
provide an environment that promotes a passion for the game and
a positive overall experience for all participants.
We promote community-based recreational soccer programs in south
and west Houston by providing high quality player development
curriculum, coaching development, training support, and
operational assistance for these programs.
We commit to continuous improvement of our select soccer
program’s performance at all levels by supporting recreational
soccer programs, developing players and attracting outside
talent.
|
|
The Mission Statement
first describes the environment that we want to create. It is the
Club’s first priority to ensure that all the youth in the club have
fun learning and playing the world’s number one sport in a safe,
positive environment. Eclipse encourages healthy competition and the
development of good soccer skills while instilling the importance of
teamwork, dedication, and good sportsmanship.
Secondly, it
describes how we propose to promote community-based recreational
soccer programs. The club will continue to improve our player
development curriculum and our coaching development curriculum. We
will seek opportunities to expand recreational soccer programs
either by starting new programs or offering assistance to existing
recreational soccer programs in our area so as to improve the
quality of the soccer experience for all youth players in our area.
Finally, the mission
statement addresses our commitment to continuous improvement of our
select soccer program's performance. We intend to improve our select
program through three avenues:
-
Long term
improvement through better support of recreational soccer
programs
-
Long term
improvement through improved player development
-
Long term and
short term improvement by offering a quality select program that
attracts talent from other clubs
It is our believe
that our community is best served by a single select soccer program,
with the right combination of high quality training, facilities, and
a sufficient pool of players that allows us to find a place for
every youth player to compete on a team that is appropriate for his
or her level of play.
We invite all youth
soccer players and their families to come join us. Be prepared to
join a growing club that is committed to providing a quality soccer
experience and to continuous improvement of our
programs.

Statements were approved by the club's Board of Directors in the
Spring of 2005)
